The boat arrival
The boat over to COMO Parrot Cay did more to slow me down than any welcome drink. After the car, boat and final short ride to the hotel, the quiet beach and thick vegetation made other plans feel unnecessary. A swim, a spa visit and a long afternoon outside were plenty.
Beachfront suite
I stayed in a beachfront suite, which kept the sand close and came with a host who could handle small requests. A Terrace room or a house farther along the island would give a different daily walk, perhaps with more private space but more travel to meals. The heated beachfront pool was a lovely stop after a treatment.
Dining & service
The cheeseburger spring rolls were the dish I wanted again. Fresh fruit and a changing menu kept meals interesting over several days, and ice or water for the suite could arrive within minutes. The bill still deserved attention: on a private island, a meal plan and the room rate need looking at together rather than assuming mainland prices.
Would I return?
The boat journey is worth repeating when there are enough island days afterward to forget the clock entirely. This is not a practical base for trying a different restaurant on Providenciales every night. Once the boat was behind me, letting the island carry the holiday was much more satisfying than trying to escape it.
