Florence on foot
Hotel Savoy put me immediately into Florence. Walking out into the center rather than arranging a car was its strongest advantage, and the relatively small hotel made returning at night feel easy. A window over the square would bring the city into the room; one toward a service alley might bring early delivery noise instead.
Suite & outlook
Rooms were comfortable without all being large. I liked the separate living space in a one-bedroom suite, but the actual outlook mattered just as much as the floor plan. The staff even offered help unpacking and repacking bags, a small but useful thing when the stay was short.
Turndown & dining
I noticed the most thoughtful detail at turndown: still and sparkling water, slippers and night cream ready for the evening. Dinner in the hotel was convenient, though a celebratory meal there was not necessarily the best of a week in Florence. I left other nights open for the city's restaurants rather than making the room key a dining plan.
Would I return?
Being able to walk straight into Florence, then return to a team that notices small details, is reason enough to stay. It does not have the sprawling garden and pool of a country retreat, nor does every room face the square. With the window chosen well, the city was the reason to be here.
