Quiet room & bathroom
Park Hyatt New York impressed me with quiet room space in Midtown. The bathroom made a slower morning tempting, and Central Park was close enough for a walk. Big windows did not necessarily mean a park outlook, though; one onto an ordinary part of 57th Street would be a different purchase.
Check-in & service
At check-in, the desk already knew about a birthday and explained the breakfast benefit without being prompted. When I thought something had been lost, staff helped retrace my steps until it turned up in a garment bag. The local car made nearby journeys easy as well. That calm, practical assistance stuck with me more than a stock welcome gift.
Breakfast & picnic
On a crowded restaurant morning, room-service breakfast was the better choice. Another day, a hotel picnic basket made it easy to sit in Central Park on a sunny afternoon instead of planning a formal lunch. I also made time for the pool upstairs, a welcome break from trains, shops and another restaurant reservation in busy Midtown.
Would I return?
The room's calm and a team that knows the neighborhood are better reasons to return than a park-view label. The park view was worth confirming, but the reliable pleasures were a quiet bedroom and enough time to use it.
