Connected suites
Park Hyatt Vienna kept its old-bank character without making me feel I was sleeping in a museum. My setup combined a junior suite and a connected standard suite, about 1,700 square feet in all. They really did connect on my stay, giving me far more usable room than a single city-hotel suite. The high ceilings and old-bank details made the space feel like part of Vienna rather than just a large floor plan.
Pool in the vault
The pool inside the former bank vault deserved a proper swim rather than a quick photograph. Steam and sauna afterward made it a proper spa afternoon, especially after hours on foot in Vienna's center. Back upstairs, I appreciated being able to close off one part of the connected rooms and spread out in the other.
Black truffle breakfast
The black truffle eggs at breakfast are the dish I remember from The Bank Brasserie. Eating them in the old banking hall was much more distinctive than another quick buffet stop. The concierge helped with dinners and performances, while shops and sights were close enough that I did not need a car for every outing.
Would I return?
The connected 1,700-square-foot setup, truffle eggs and a swim in the vault are what bring this stay back to mind. It was a substantial suite experience I actually had, not a hypothetical upgrade. The building's history was fun; having that much practical space made it comfortable over several days.
