The lagoon suite
The lagoon paths at Rosewood Mayakoba were as memorable as the beach. I rode a bike through greenery to the lobby and spa, then returned to a private-feeling suite. The beach club and Punta Bonita were farther away and made more sense by cart; a waterside room does not put every restaurant a short cycle away.
Breakfast & housekeeping
Breakfast was simple but satisfying: fruit, juice and eggs before going out. A little housekeeping miss, having to ask again for cream with morning coffee, mattered more over several days than it would on the first morning. The suite and lagoon still made it easy to slow down between outings.
Beach club & bars
At the beach club I ordered a Coco Loco in its coconut; later there was tequila to sip at Agave Azul and a small bar at La Isla Secreta. Those places gave the stay variety beyond a formal resort dinner. Seaweed could change the actual sand and swimming on my dates, so I did not treat a perfect beach photograph as a promise.
Would I return?
The lagoon paths and varied bars make Mayakoba worth revisiting even when the Caribbean shore has seaweed. Choosing a suite for its real layout, rather than a villa photograph from another part of Mayakoba, made the quieter side of the resort the reward.
