The London suite
A good suite at The Berkeley gave me room to sit separately from the bed and start a London morning slowly. The modern polish still felt rooted in Knightsbridge. The exact suite mattered, though: a marketed Hyde Park view could amount to very little park from the actual windows.
Room details
Some room details needed clarifying. Pillows were easy enough to change, while a minibar stocked with British treats was not necessarily complimentary. I checked the charges instead of discovering them at the end. Evening turndown was nice, but it could not make a poor outlook into a good one.
Rooftop pool & dining
The rooftop pool worked on a warm afternoon when a place to sit was available; on another date it could be too crowded for a slow visit. I ate elsewhere in Knightsbridge as well. One pizza ordered in the hotel came without the oregano requested, with none available when I asked. At hotel prices it was not a meal I wanted to repeat.
Would I return?
A suite with real room to sit and confirmed rooftop pool access would make another Berkeley stay worthwhile. The place can make London feel easy, but neither the room key nor the rate turns every extra into a given.
