The overwater villa
The overwater villa at Four Seasons Bora Bora gave me enough space to sit and watch the lagoon rather than rush out for an activity. A mountain-facing position offers the familiar Bora Bora backdrop, while another orientation can feel like a different trip. The choice is worth making before arriving by boat.
Snorkeling & lagoon
Snorkeling close to my bungalow, I saw turtles, rays and small reef sharks without joining a group outing. The lagoon sanctuary was also worth exploring with the team rather than treating it as another photograph stop. Inside, the villa supplied water and coffee, but not necessarily a fully stocked minibar.
Breakfast & dinner
Breakfast had rotating pastries and à la carte choices, and fruit ice pops arrived beside the pool later in the heat. I booked an evening at Vaimiti for its Asian menu rather than assume an island restaurant could seat me at any moment. The messaging service was useful for quick requests, with an occasional follow-up needed for an important plan.
Would I return?
The water deserves more than a rushed villa photograph, especially when there is time for the lagoon sanctuary and breakfast. A villa with the right orientation and a few dinner tables booked gave me far more than the overwater label alone. The setting is extraordinary, but the practical choices still shape the holiday.
