The Giudecca arrival
Cipriani gave me Venice without a bedroom in its busiest lanes. Arriving by boat on Giudecca and returning after a day in the city felt like a change of pace, especially with gardens and a large saltwater pool waiting back at the hotel. I enjoyed that short crossing more each evening.
Room & outlook
The room deserved a close look. A refreshed junior suite could feel generous, while an older, simpler bedroom would be a very different purchase. I liked having someone check my restaurant plans at arrival and take me straight to a ready room; the lagoon outlook was worth confirming before unpacking.
Breakfast & pool
Breakfast on the island, a swim and a Bellini afterward made the morning pleasantly slow. Cip's gave me a meal beside the water, and the hotel boat made another evening in town easy. A particular table and the return crossing were worth arranging rather than relying on luck after dinner.
Would I return?
Several nights on Giudecca would let the pool and gardens become part of the Venice trip rather than a quick detour. The shuttle is convenient, but every outing still involves the lagoon; someone who wants to walk out of the lobby into St Mark's Square would be happier elsewhere. For me that separation was the hotel's greatest luxury.
