Rooftop breakfast
Hotel Eden made a rooftop view part of my daily Rome routine. At Il Giardino, I could have something from the breakfast buffet and still order from the menu while the city spread out beyond the big windows. That panorama is not guaranteed from a bedroom downstairs, so its exact outlook was worth checking.
Room & walk to town
The Spanish Steps and other central sights were within reach, though the uphill walk back felt longer after a full day. Coming into a quieter room helped. Staff remembered small preferences discussed before arrival, which made the return feel more personal than a generic welcome card.
Cocktails & dinner
A cocktail upstairs arrived with a whole tray of appetizers instead of the usual few bar snacks. Il Giardino gave me a reason to reserve at least one rooftop dinner, though I still ate around Rome rather than have every meal inside. The gym was compact; it was never going to replace walking the city.
Would I return?
Another Rome visit could easily bring me back to that rooftop, provided the bedroom below has the right view. Room category and the uphill climb back mattered, but neither outweighed the pleasure of looking out across Rome over breakfast and returning for a drink later.
