MY STAY
The ferry arrival
La Palma made arriving on Capri unusually easy. Someone could meet me after the ferry, take the luggage and get us into town without joining the taxi scramble. Once settled, I liked having Capri's streets outside rather than arranging a car from a distant hotel every evening.
Room position
The rooms looked fresh, but position still mattered. A balcony near a lively part of the building could be noisier than one nearer the pool. I checked the card charges and deposit while the desk could still explain them; a billing mistake that followed me home would be a poor end to an expensive stay.
French toast & rooftop pool
Breakfast beneath the old pine tree was a pleasure, especially the house French toast, which I wanted again. Not everything on the breakfast table was included: bacon has carried an extra charge even beside eggs and waffles. The roof pool suited a quick swim after exploring town. For an afternoon by the sea, the hotel car went to a separate beach club.

Would I return?
Capri's walkable streets, an easy ferry arrival and French toast beneath the pine tree deserve another short stay. This is not a room opening directly onto the sand. Knowing the pool and beach required different plans made the central location an advantage rather than a surprise.
