MY STAY
Terrace & Positano
Le Sirenuse let me have Positano immediately outside and a terrace to retreat to when the streets felt too full. A sea-facing room changed the mornings: looking back over the town was something I actually did, not just the reason for choosing a pricier category.
Bed & sleep
The bed was firmer than I liked, and a ventilation problem needed attention before the view could be enjoyed properly. Around the room, lemon trees, flowers and the blue-tiled pool made staying in appealing even with the town below. The spa was a nice pause, though this was not a hotel chosen for a giant gym.
Dining & beach club
Dinner at La Sponda led naturally to a drink at Franco's. Le Sirenuse Mare was worth reserving when the beach club was part of the day. I learned to get any private boat details in writing: being offered an "upgrade" to a smaller, older vessel was no treat when standing at the dock.
Would I return?
The terrace view and freedom to walk into Positano make another stay appealing after a busy day without expecting total isolation. The town's energy and a room worth returning to belong together here. Getting the terrace and any boat outing right made that balance much easier to enjoy.
